Art for Youth London exhibits artworks from over 100 artists nationally

Exhibiting at Art for Youth

Register now if you are interested in exhibiting at this year’s exhibition.

Art for Youth is open to all artists, and takes great pleasure in welcoming and supporting new and emerging talent.

All registered artists (including those that have previously registered an interest in exhibiting) will be contacted in June, inviting them to submit digital images of works to be reviewed by the Selection Committee in early July. These do not have to be the actual works, but Art for Youth do reserve the right to reject works that arrive for the exhibition which are very different in size or style to the ones originally proposed.

We welcome works in all media, although applicants should be aware that our ability to select very large pieces will be limited by how many works we can fit in the exhibition space.

The exhibition will take place at the Mall Galleries (London) in November 2024.

THE DIANA BROOKS PRIZE

The Diana Brooks Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding exhibiting artist aged 35 or under. The prize is sponsored by Eversleigh Investment and Property Co Ltd, a privately-owned family business involved in the team creation and management of operational environments and with a deep interest and involvement in the Arts.

Lara Robinson

Lara Robinson is a classically trained contemporary artist based between London, Wiltshire and Cornwall. Having grown up amongst the beaches of Cornwall and the rolling hills of the countryside, Lara’s training in Florence and Barcelona means her style crosses classical training with a more individual impressionism, and imbues her work with a real sense of vibrancy and life.

Lara is particularly interested in researching Impressionism, exploring its principles of concept, composition and colour. She says of her approach “It’s all about playing to get the best result”. Producing work that is well-considered, taking decisions on representation, and finding the most interesting way to reflect her chosen subject matter is key to Lara’s practice.

Jamie Wild

James Wild focuses on capturing the essence of the wild through sculpture.

His ambition is to build awareness and appreciation for the wild parts of our planet and the life that inhabits them. Conservation and a love for working from life was the catalyst on which James started sculpting in 2009 and since then he has completed both private and public works of art in the UK and overseas.

Colin Willey

In 1995 Colin graduated from Cheltenham College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art (painting). He then went on to do a PGCE. In 1997 he moved to Dorchester and started painting professionally.

He is represented by Carina Haslam Art who regularly takes his work to the Affordable Art Fairs in London, New York and Singapore. He has also exhibited at the Mall Galleries in the Laing Landscape Exhibition, the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) Exhibition and the New English Art Club (NEAC) Exhibition.

As a painter Colin has been drawn to the Dorset landscape as a subject for many years. Working outside in all weathers and at all times of the year he has built up an understanding of the way the landscape changes. The structure of the place can be relatively constant yet light, seasons and weather can have a dramatic effect on how they look.

Anna-Louise Felstead

Anna-Louise graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2003 having received first class honours from Central Saint Martins. Regarded as a reportage artist, her work is generally painted on location in ink on paper. These studies are then used as reference material for larger oil paintings.

From 2009-2011 Anna-Louise had an art gallery in Port Isaac (North Cornwall) where she exclusively showed her own work documenting village life, local architecture and scenes from the bay. Moving to New York City in 2013, she worked on a much larger scale producing abstract cityscapes in oils. It was during this time that she began making screen prints of Manhattan at The Art Student's League of New York before returning to the UK in 2015.

Anna-Louise is now based in London at Delta House Studios where she continues to paint abstract cityscapes and historic cars.

Guy Allen

Guy Allen is an experimental printmaker, draftsman and talented young British artist. Working hard from his studio on the North Norfolk coast, Guy’s trademark experimental approach to printmaking presents an exciting mix of colour, gold-leaf and an original, contemporary take on the traditional art of etchings. Studying at Central St Martins from 2008 – 2011 Guy discovered the printing press on a trip to the École Nationale Supérieure Des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Finding an art form that lent itself so perfectly to his artistic aspirations was a revelation. He has never looked back. Since then Guy has won a number of prizes, including the Diana Brooks Prize at the Mall Galleries in 2018.

Guy also has a philanthropic interest and supports many arts charities each year including Art For Youth, EACH, Keeping A Breast, Art For Cure, Marie Curie UK and Well Child.
